Abstract:
Papers, 1986-1990, of Ruth Simpson, an organizer with Minnesota Citizens' Organizations Acting Together (COACT), documenting her activities related to activism around use of the genetically engineered recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH) in dairy cattle to increase milk production. Minnesota COACT was formed in 1979 as a direct action, citizens' organization. Includes fact sheets, position papers, news clippings, editorial cartoons, letters to the editor, rBGH industry press releases and promotional literature, and industry research contracts, including some signed by Monsanto and American Cyanamid companies, with the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities to conduct rBGH research.
