Microfilmed marriage records. Information appearing on the register over the years remained constant, though the format changed from time to time, particularly after the turn of the century. Items shown, for both husband and wife: full name (wife's maiden name); residence; color or race; age; single, widowed, or divorced; number of marriages; birthplace; occupation; name and birthplace of parents; and maiden name of mother. Marriage data includes place, city or township, and county where marriage was contracted; time when marriage took place; by what ceremony contracted; certification; signature of person officiating and of witnesses; filing date and names of local registrar and county clerk; and recording date.
