Abstract:
Papers of Wilhelmine D. La Budde, a Milwaukee clubwoman and conservationist, including articles, speeches, radio scripts, reports of the Conservation Committee of the Wisconsin Federation of Women's Clubs, and clippings on conservation subjects and correspondence. La Budde campaigned for compulsory conservation education, the restoration of Horicon Marsh, a resident fishing license bill, preservation of tracts of virgin timber and reforestation, and improved Native American welfare. Letters include correspondence with members of the Wisconsin legislature, with congressmen from most Wisconsin districts, with Wisconsin senators and governors, and with other conservationists such as Charles Broughton, Louis Radke, and Haskell Noyes.
