Papers of Tony Baéz, a leader of Milwaukee's Hispanic community, 1968-2008. Includes files relating to his work at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS), and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). Most of these materials are associated with bilingual education, or other alternative educational programs, including Milwaukee's South Division High School. Other materials include his work with schools and districts outside of the Milwaukee area, including Hostos Community College in New York City. Files pertaining to his involvement in educational and Hispanic organizations are also included, as are research and writings on these subjects by both Baéz and other authors. The collection also contains numerous VHS tapes of a local PBS television show co-hosted by Baéz titled Adelante. English
