Abstract:
Papers of Abner A. Anthony, a Bedford County, Virginia, minister, farmer, and merchant, consisting of yearly tax receipts, accounts with suppliers showing prices of general merchandise and drugs, charges by blacksmiths, detailed cost of building a gristmill in 1820, tobacco sales from his farm, county court settlements of debts, and an indenture of 1867 dividing Anthony's property. One volume contains his store accounts for 1821 to 1823; a record of marriages performed by Anthony in the Virginia counties of Bedford, Campbell, Franklin, and Pittsylvania, 1829-1836 and 1841-1863; and a list of male residents in his district.
