Papers of Daniel Cohen, a former student radical from the University of Chicago who later became a photographer and journalist. His activities with Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and with the Weather Underground led to his arrest, after which he lived underground from 1970 to 1976. Included are diaries, his FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) files, collected subject files, and videotapes representative of his work. The earlier diaries mainly document his everyday life as a young gay man on the West Coast with few mentions of his life in hiding, while the 1988-1989 volume details the illness and death from AIDS of his companion.
