Papers of Charles P. Cell, a graduate student in Chinese Studies at the University of Michigan, then a professor of sociology at the University of Wisconsin, concerning his activities as national coordinator of the Committee of Concerned Asian Scholars (CCAS), a national organization of students of Asian Studies formed in 1968 to oppose the war in Vietnam. Included are planning documents and reports of trips to China sponsored by CCAS, administrative paperwork, correspondence, and meeting material. Of note is a folder of correspondence between Cell and American and Chinese residents of the Red Star Commune in China. English
