Records of the Wisconsin Congress of Parents and Teachers (or PTA), a local, self-governing membership association, whose main purpose is to serve the needs and desires of its members in promoting health, welfare, safety, and education of children and youth. The Wisconsin PTA formed around the turn of the twentieth century and is complemented by national affiliation. The collection documents primarily the organization's members and activities in support of its mission at the state level and at the local level through scrapbooks (historians' records), administrative and financial materials, and convention materials.
