Abstract:
Records of the Wisconsin State Old Cemetery Society (WSOCS), formed in 1971 with the goal of transcribing fading and illegible headstone inscriptions in Wisconsin cemeteries. The collection contains records of the Surname Index Chapter Records Division, research by Wayne and Alta Guyant including inscriptions and obituary clippings (1970s-1980s), and scrapbooks with clippings and photographs documenting the activities of the society as well as information pertaining to cemeteries in Wisconsin and elsewhere.
