Photographs, negatives, transparencies and slides created by the Industrial Design Department at International Harvester's Fort Wayne Works. The materials illustrate the development of interior and exterior styling for International trucks, and include photographs of clay and plastic models, prototype trucks, and department employees. Many photographs illustrate color schemes and custom paint jobs. Some of the photographs may have been used for advertising purposes. The featured trucks include heavy duty, medium duty, and light duty models. Prototype models include vans and jeeps. Some of the iconic product lines of the International Harvester Company are found in this collection, including IH Scout, Travelall, Transtar, Loadstar, and Paystar.
Most of the images were assigned project numbers. The department created an index to project numbers that is now housed in Box 1.
Forms part of the McCormick Collection.
