The Foundation for Rural Housing, Inc. (named the Wisconsin Rural Housing Cooperative from 1969-1983) assists low-income families of rural Wisconsin in acquiring and maintaining adequate, safe, and sanitary housing. The bulk of the collection documents programs and projects including the Community Housing Alternatives Program (CHAP), the Housing Initiative Program (HIP), the National Demonstration Water Project (NDWP), the Wisconsin Fund (Private Sewage System Grant), and the Volunteer Senior Home Repair Program. Administrative files documenting Board of Directors meetings and grant reports as well as photographs documenting the early years of the home building and repair program are also present. English
