Abstract:
Records, 1967-1990, of the Wisconsin State Attorneys Association (WSAA), the Wisconsin Federation of Teachers union local that represented attorneys employed by Wisconsin State Government. Included are minutes of executive board meetings, 1978-1990, and subject files primarily dating from the late 1980s when Matthew H. Frank of the Department of Justice Criminal Litigation unit was president of the union. These records were received in 2006 as part of his files as head of that unit. The records document contract bargaining; attempts via publicity and public relations, legislative contacts, and other means to secure a contract settlement; and issues concerning the position of the organized attorneys such as salaries and the employment of special counsels. For the period documented, these records may be considered official, but no membership or financial information is included.
