Abstract:
Records, mainly 1896-1964, of the Svoboda Church Furniture Company, a company specializing in the manufacture of altars, pulpits, and other church furniture and ornamentation. Contains business records and detailed drawings and blueprints for altars, pulpits and lecterns, railings, organ screens, chancel furniture, and pews and a few photographs. Designs are included for specific churches in Wisconsin as well as throughout the Midwest. The business records consist primarily of fragmentary correspondence, clippings, product literature, and scattered financial volumes. Numerous additional drawings document the Raton Manufacturing Company of Rio Creek, Wisconsin, which was acquired by Svoboda.
