Abstract:

Files of Dane County guardianship and insanity hearings, containing petitions, lextters, orders, inventories, reports, accounts, and testimony relating to the care of wards and other incompetents and the management of their property; petitions and affidavits; and applications and orders for the commitment of insane persons and drunkards. The guardianship records are on microfilm only and appear to be guardianship of minors cases only. The insanity files are on paper only; they include a few highway orders and special licenses to marry.

The microfilm portion was produced om 1990 by the Genealogical Society of Utah which holds the master negative.

These records all are open to use by court order.
