Abstract:
General records, 1975-1990, of Vel Phillips, Douglas La Follette, and various attorneys in the Office of Secretary of State covering the period when the secretary was responsible for administration of the Wisconsin lobby law. In 1990 the Ethics Board assumed this responsibility. Included are correspondence with principals (employers of lobbyists), attorneys, and others; complaints; requests for formal and informal opinions, draft and final versions of formal opinions 1-35; publications and press releases; seminar and workshop training materials (some in recorded form); statistical data and analysis; and detailed reports on several investigations. The seven tape recordings concern training for enforcement of legislative revisions made in 1979.
