Abstract:

Correspondence from the state Department of Veterans Affairs and information, 1940-1977, from agencies serving veterans such as County Veterans' Service Offices, state agencies, schools, insurance companies, realtors, federal agencies, and veterans affairs agencies in other states. Other materials include meeting minutes and agendas; bulletins; clippings; veterans' magazines; texts from speeches; reports of meetings; organization newsletters and proceedings and reports from conventions. Subjects include legislation and laws related to veterans including education and job opportunities and financial assistance. The conflicts best represented in the collection are World War II and the Vietnam War, although there is material related to conflicts from the Spanish American War through Vietnam.
