Papers, primarily from 1893, 1917-1924, and 1929, relating to Modie's service in the Ohio National Guard in the Spanish-American War, and especially his service as a dental surgeon in the 32nd Division, American Expeditionary Force during World War I. Includes correspondence from Europe to his family, clippings, Army and National Guard documents, and medical supply inventories.
