Full audio file. Tape 1, Side 1, Part 1 - Introduction. Note: This is a translation of SIDE 1 of the original tape (BT 32). Its subject is commercial fishing. Mr. Chaudoir and Mr. Jeanquart fished together for many years, and here they recall those times. They are brothers-in-law; Mr. Chaudoir is the brother of Mrs. Jeanquart. Their wives and Mrs. Chaudoir's parents, the Engleberts, occasionally join in the conversation. The technique used involved playing a small portion of the original tape, after which the Chaudoirs gave a rough translation in English. The process was complicated by the fact that Mr. Chaudoir is partially deaf. The second side of the tape has not been translated, but hopefully will be in the future. The women participated more in this section, and the subject matter broadened to "the old days" in general. Tape 1, Side 1, Part 2 - Walloon.
