In her March 27, 2004 interview Marion Namenwirth discusses her childhood, her interest in biology, and later her undergraduate and graduate education in genetics and embryonic development at Indiana University. She then talks about her appointment to UW, women in the sciences in the 1970s, her experiences with the Association of Faculty Women, consciousness-raising, the women’s liberation movement, the zoology department, research, teaching responsibilities, and tenure proceedings. She later discusses a sex discrimination suit against the university, Women in Science reading group, Ruth Bleier, and gender in scientific professions.
