Anonymous Elena y Marķa (1914)

Written in the second half of the XIII century, by unknown writer, this poem is part of the literary tradition of debate, applied here to a love theme. Elena and Marķa argue about what is best: the love of a knight or the love of a clergyman. Not being able to solve their disagreement, they decide to attend the court of king Oriol, known for his great judgment in love cases.

Anonymous Vida de Santa Marķa Egipciaqua (1907)

This poem, by an unknown writer, is usually dated back to the first half of the XIII century. Following the hagiographic structure, the poem includes a Sermon that corresponds to the rhetorical narrative centered in the "example". It illustrates the divine benevolence through Marķa Egipciaca's life. The first half of the story describes Maria's strong sexual drive that makes her a prostitute. In the second half, Maria undergoes conversion, following a life of penance.
